Hello,

i've an HM 1.74 running as a service under win2000 server. After experiencing several problems with the technical account used by the service i've finally find a working solution.
In fact it's necessary to log on at least one time under this technical account to create the user profile. After that everything is ok, i can modify alerts under my admin account and then close application and start the service under the technical account.
The question is : what is the technical reason of this log on under the technical account? It's the question that i've to explain at the security team of my business.

thanks in advance.

The question is: why you still use version 1.74 (current version is 3.64)? You must logon to register HostMonitor. It was changed in HostMonitor 1.76. Version 1.76 and all future versions needs just one registration and will work under any user account.

Why so complicated? Just start HostMonitor under "local system" account and specify technical account on Service page in the Options dialog. In this case HostMonitor will be able to display icon in system tray and you will be able to interact with service.
