RMA Manager: accept new active RMA

Post by Wabiloo »

Currently, in order to setup an active RMA, I follow the following steps:
- on the remote system, install RMA executables and config
- decide a hostname and password
- try connecting, which gets refused (because the RMA manager is not setup yet)
- got to RMA manager, and create new active RMA
- copy name of the RMA from the right-hand side log info
- try to recall the password used.

In my opinion, it would be very useful if RMA manager could keep a list of the RMAs that tried to connect to it but failed (because they are new ones not yet setup), and be able to have a quick way of accepting them (for example right click / "add new from connection attempt".
This would at the very least take the RMA name, and (if possible) the password and add it to the list of active RMAs.
It would reduce the complexity of installing RMAs even more.

RMA Manager cannot receive passwords because passwords never transferred thru network between HostMonitor, RCC, RMA, RMA Manager...
Software components use one-way hash function so pasoword cannot be retrieved on another end.
Retrieve the name? Yes, its possible. May be we implement this option.
