Ability to move folders in the tree

Post by Robert_in_MTL »

Hi,
could you add the option "Move Folder" in the context menu of the folders tree please?

I would like the behavior to be somewhat like the "copy" option when right-clicking on a test.

The reason for my request is that:
  • 1- If you create a folder "A"
2- And you want to move already existing folder "X" into folder "A", you cannot!
3- You have to create folder "B" into folder "A", then you will be able to move "X" beside "B".
4- Then, you need to delete "B".
So, if you add the "Move folder" option, it would fix it.

Thank you and keep up the good work!

From my point of view that's more likely an issue in drag-and-drop function.
I.E. using windows explorer drag-and-drop is just working as Robert (and me too) would expect.
Is there a reason, why HM does work different ?

@Jürgen

I don't think explorer-like drag&drop is what you expect.

HM can change the sort order of the folders by drag and drop and explorer can't.
Drop Folder A on folder B means:
[windows] - folder A is subfolder of folder B
[HM] sort folder A above folder B

Cheers

Hi Thomas,

Oh, yes, I see the difference.
