Test Dependencies - GUI Shortcoming

Post by johnm »

The information provided on test properties is lacking in the area of master and dependent tests. It would be helpful to see the folder of the master or dependent test.

Consider the following with the current GUI:

Server1 has a test called PING
Server2 has a test called PING
Server3 has a test called PING

Each server (1-3) has a drivespace test which is dependent on that server's PING test, obviously. Since the properties for the drivespace test only show a master test of "PING", one has no way of knowing (or confirming) which server's PING test we are dependent on.

If there is a solution in the current version for this shortcoming, please let me know. Otherwise, can this be added in future versions?

Cheers! to KS-Soft for a great program despite this minor flaw.

You need some function in Test Properties dialog that will show detailed information about all master and dependant tests?

All that would be necessary is adding a third column to contain the
%FullPath% of the master or dependent test to the already shown columns - "Master Test", "Dependent Test" and "Condition".

Or change the prefix the "Master Test" and "Dependent Test" with %FullPath% instead of adding a 3rd column.

Either would be fine.

Not enough space in the dialog. I think its better to create another window... I have added task into "to do" list
