Reports only for our operation times?

Post by mp1 »

Hi,

It would be great, if it would be possibile to generate reports only for specific operation times, f.e.

Our operation times are from Monday to Thursday from 07:30 to 17:00 and Friday from 07:30 to 12:30.
We also have an operating window, which shouldn't be included in the report.

I know, that you can change the schedule for checking, but this we don't want.

Further it would be nice, if the "Filter" from the Log Anaylzer could also be more customized - so that you can specify the operating times.

Best regards and thanks in advance

H'm, Day-time filter (Log Analyzer) almost fits your needs: you may specify Monday-Friday time interval.

So you want to monitor items 24/7 and start alerts 24/7 but generate statistics for certain time interval? Create 2 set of test items (1st for alerting, 2nd for statistisc) is not nice solution.
But there is better solution: use "Record HM log" action to produce log records within specified time frame

Not entirely, because Friday we work only up to midday
and then we have also our maintenance window - as i sayed

I'm not in the office now, but I will have a look at this feature - thanks

Hi,

I just tried the "Record HM log" action - in our case this is not working.
It's an action, this does mean, that there will be only log entry, when the status will chanced.

You can use different settings for the action. E.g. record log when "Reply" changes, or record log for each test regardless of result...

I completely overlooked the advanced feature ;-)

Although it would be perfect, if this could be done by an advanced filter in the Log Analyzer

Thanks,

I was thinking about folder level option, something like "Statistics: Time restriction" that could point to standard schedule...

Does this mean, that the logfiles will be only written for the "Time restrictions" or do I understand this wrong?

In my opionion it would be the best, if you have only one log (24/7/365), and with this logfile you should can do all the bad things - I mean a fully flexible filter 8)

Martin

PS. Sorry for my bad english, I don't think, that this is always right, what I write

Not exactly. "Statistics" means Alive%, Dead%, Passed tests, Failed tests ... counters, right now HostMonitor updates these counter after each test.
