Web service bandwidth usage.

Post by Bob »

I run the web service on a machine here in the office, and the main HostMonitor application on a remote machine.

My question is: is there a way to reduce the bandwidth usage of the web service without stopping any tests? Maybe a method of reducing the update frequency or something? I've noticed that it uses almost 50meg/hour, which is huge.

You may setup refresh rate in the Options dialog
http://www.ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/webs ... advoptions
You have marked "Use HTML command to force browser to refresh content every NN sec" option, right?

Also, you may install Web Service on the same system where HostMonitor is running. If you do not use "Display tests from current folder and from all subfolders" option, web service will not send all test records to the browser.
