Re: RCC / Win auth

The HM server is running Windows Server 2019 fully patched.
System log does not show anything helpful.

Must have been some weird timing problem.
But anyway, as it is working now we do not need any further analysis.

Thanks.

Re: RCC / Win auth

After setting the (same) service user in Options under Startup, Service and restarting the service the problem is gone. Before that the user was only set manually in the services applet.

Thanks anyway.

RCC / Win auth

We have a problem with Windows authentication and RCC. Hostmon is running as service account DOMAIN\hostmon and RCC users login as DOMAIN\username. This works for a few minutes after service startup, then we get the error "InitializeSecurityContext failed. The specified target is unknown or unr...

Thanks for the quick fix, SQL logging is working again. In fact it partially worked before, it just threw lots of errors and dropped some entries. I assume it had to do with the double backslashes in the full path, or? And yes, I used 14.24. Sorry for that typo and once again thanks for the fast help.

It seems the variable %FullPath% ist the culprit. If I replace it with a static value the query works fine.

The ODBC driver is Microsoft built-in SQL Server driver version 10.00.17763.4974 from 12.10.2023, but that's most likely not the culprit. The hostmon.ini has the following odbcLogSQLQuery: Insert into hmlog (eventtime,eventtimestamp,testname,status,statusid,simplestatus,reply,testid,testmethod,testm...

Problems with SQL Backup log since v10.24

Since updating to v10.24 the backup logging to MSSQL does not work anymore. The SQL is unchanged and testing the ODBC data source on the HostMon host is fine. Testing the Data source in HostMon via Options works fine as well. The logging itself does not work and throws multiple errors in syslog. Her...

We came from version 12.60.
The only change I can remember is using a different SQL ODBC as backup log, which works flawlessly. That was changed right after updating.

So far the timeout change seems to have fixed the problem.
I will reply here if the error returns.

Thanks.

Thanks for your fast reply. Clients and server have a 1G connection and the load on the server is pretty low. We have HostMonitor running on this virtual host for 2 months now and did not have the problem before v12.64. Auditing does not show any errors, just a few warnings about weak passwords (rem...

RCC connection errors

Since updating HostMonitor to v12.64 we get the message "Error(RR): Cannot read data" when connecting via RCC for the first time in a while. Disconnecting and reconnecting without closing RCC then works, any subsequent logins within a short time frame work as well. HostMonitor 12.64 runnin...
