HostMonitor is fantastic

I've been using AHM this since around 2004 (?) and I've been exposed and worked with numerous mainstream enterprise monitoring tools. What always impresses me - and why AHM is the leader its its field - is the configurability. It is just fantastic and allows Op's teams to monitor virtually anything ...

Hi,

Thanks - unsure what the priority should be though I think this would be a great functionality uplift.

Keep up the good work.

Many Thanks

Ah! I see, I havent explained, I'll pen an email later;

I understand what you are saying, I'm aware that multiple conditions can be attached to a view.

I'm taking about having a 'windo' function that would allow collectipons of views to be displaed in different windows.

Extending 'view' functionality

I think I'm going to set up a fan club for 'views' - they are a very powerful feature of HM and we use them a lot...so, for 1st line support they are useful as you can set up a view that indicates slow performance across a range of applications that is digestible and understandable to the less techn...

Aggregated test / monitor of monitors

Hi, I'm about to embark on setting up a monitor and would like to check I have my thinking right; I'm setting up HM so that staff can view - via the web service - the status of critical applications. To give a VERY simple top level view I would like to aggregate the results of multiple tests into on...

Thanks, this has worked really well. I'm setting up a series of monitors to check each mail relay in my organisation, Step 2 will be to automate a command line email from MS Outlook and check that it appears in Gmail. One thought - and it probably not thought through enough yet to make it on the wis...

Great idea. In fact I was being dense, Using my own outgoing server is exactly what I need to do, otherwise all I am really testing is my internet connection!

The current test does not support all the necessary SMTP requirements of gmail/yahoo etc. Test works well for internal Exchange folders, but know I want to monitor the successful delivery of emails outside of our organis...

Resolved!

Thanks for all the help on this - now working perfectly.

Basically I re-installed the RMA software using the supplied installer and choosing the "custom" option.

RMA is absolutely superb!

Cheers
