Backup - this machine is clustered, all the critical data that it hosts is on a SAN, is backed up to separate hard drive, a tape drive and also replicated to the DR site. Host monitor is not part of all that because it can easily be rebuilt. All that said, it would probably be easy to add this app t...

We dont normally have any user specific accounts. What is in that file? Is there a default one we can just...

UserList removed or damaged! All operations restricted!
Not sure what happened. Get into host monitor to check and got this error message. The file is there but appears to be empty. Hostmonitor runs as a service and appears to be working, just cant modify or add anything.
Please let me know what needs to be done to correct this.

convert celsius to fahrenheit
We have a room temp monitor for our server room. It has its own monitoring and alerting software but we prefer hostmonitor since it monitors everything else for us. We setup the snmp monitor and get results and it works great. The only problem is we in the US dont really know Celsius well. The snmp ...

Stop 'bad' message from sending over and over
Is there a way to stop the 'bad' message from going out over and over when the problem is not fixed. For example, we are having a WAN problem right now where the pings are failing most of the time, but we may get a few back occasionally. That resets the recurrences counter so when the bad status rec...

File Change
Is there a test to see if a file has changed in the last x minutes (or since the last test). I need to get an alert if the file has NOT changed. I can do this by looking at the time stamp or size. I don't care about the size of the file or what the change actually was, only if it has not changed. I ...

We are monitoring some internet connections using pings. We have them set to not send a BAD or down message until it has had 20 consecutive bad results. We have it set to send an OK message after 32 consecutive Good results. The problem is that the recurrences counter resets after one bad result ins...
