Couple of "How to" questions.
There are a few things I'd like to do that I can't quite figure out how to accomplish. 1. Create a test that executes a command on a linux box if an alert condition is met. (seems that all commands have to come from the machine that HM is on). Example: restart ftp daemon on machine if the daemon doe...

Email alert issue
I've created an action profile that results in the sending, but not receiving of emails when an alert condition occurs. If use certain macros in the subject I don't get the email. The window pops up and shows the alert message being sent but I never receive it. It has something to do with the subjec...

Look in your temp directory...
Delete everything in your C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Temp directory. - the directory may be hidden so make sure you can view hidden files (tools|folder options|view).
Do that, then try to read the log again.
Thanks,
Thomas

Sorry about that..
It's back online now.
You can only configure it via a serial port and I had to take it offline to hook everything up.
Anyway, we found the problem. The firmware in our unit doesn't support snmp.
Thanks

syntax
I've tried all kinds of combinations resultings in all kinds of errors. What I need is a syntax example for the UNC field. For example, I'm outside our network and want to check the disk space available in the /usr partition on \\server1 (Redhat ES 3.0) in our server room. RMA is running in daemon m...

They have the MIB availab...

Thanks for the humidity setup - worked great!
Host Monitor gives an error that says "Bad Contents" when I try to test the E4.
Thanks

Printer que question
How do you use the erformance counters print que option to work on a network printer?
It only seems to work on printers on the local machine. I'm monitoring our server room from various locations outsider our network.
Thanks,
Thomas

Disk space on linux box
I can't get a UNC test to return the drive space on our Redhat ES 3 machines. I've got an RMA installed correctly (at least it returns CPU and process results) but I can't get it to return disk space. I've tried all the combinations I can think of for the UNC name field - can anyone provide a workin...

E4's and EM1
We use a Sensatronics E4 and EM1 to monitor temps in our building and server room. I'm using HM 5.12 and the Temperature test works fine with the EM1 but gives an error on the E4. How can I test the E4 to get a temperature reading? Bonus question <g>: Can you give an example of how to get the humidi...
