Sorry, that is impossible in current version Thanks Alex. It would be great if it could -- it could be setup like the current test: Performance Counter (as in "Display Mode"). And while I haven't thought of everything, perhaps one could be a custom-calculation (ie: display: %result% / 864...

SNMP Informant's WMI-Exchange contains many OIDs for Exchange that can be reported back for analysis and alerts in AHM using SNMP.

Info found at: http://www.wtcs.org/informant/wmi-exchange/overview.htm

Test SNMP w/ Result that should be in TimeTicks

Two things: 1) I have an SNMP test that looks for system uptime. The uptime format that comes back is in timeticks (0:0:00:00.00), however the response provided in AHM is 597316100. If I divide by 100, then by 86400, I get roughly 69.13 .. which means 69 hours (getif shows it as "69:3:29:35.00&...

Adding a MIB to AHM?

How do I add a new MIB to AHM? I would like to be able to use the SNMP MIBs available from http://www.snmp-informant.com When I use "getif" with SNMP-Informant MIBs loaded. With that, I can look up 1.3.6.1.4.1.9600.1.1.2.3 (.iso.org.dod.internet.private.enterprises.wtcs.informant.standard....

What I'm thinking of, is to using a 3th party program that runs next to RMA on the RMA server. It catches SNMP Traps and logs them into a log file. the RMA can use the LogFile testmethode to see what new traps are received... combine this with the date translations macro and you have a good system....

that's why SNMP Trap test for RMA will be implemented later. So this MIGHT be implemented at some point? Or will this be something that might be dropped as an idea in the future? I realize you won't share your development document, but either we wait around for it and when it's available deploy at ...

Also it would provide a greater flexibility to implement sites with dynamic public IP's, with only and ISDN dialup line etc etc etc... If you have sites with dynamic public IPs, why not use a dynamic-DNS service -- like no-ip.com, dyndns.org, etc? I realize the point of yours is to have the RMAgent...

We have similar idea. But it will not be implemented in HostMonitor. It will be separate application that will be able scan network and display list of resources. You will be able to mark some/all resources and application will create import file for HostMonitor. Almost two years after stating this...

Sure, you may send SNMP Trap messages to HostMonitor. I've recently become a product manager over our AHM branded monitoring service. I'm trying to determine what this product can or cannot do. I am evaluating some other products as well. I think we have been using this product for 2-3+ years. 0. T...

No, RMA cannot receive SNMP Traps. The manual states: "SNMP Trap test method allows you to receive SNMP Trap messages - unsolicited messages from a device (such as router, server) to an SNMP console. Traps might indicate power-up or link-up/down conditions, temperatures exceeding certain thres...

No, RMA cannot receive SNMP Traps. I hope we implement such option in future versions. Yes, RMA can request and read the OIDs. Is there anything that can be done short of this? An external product? Such that when Veritas Backup Exec is done with a job, it can send an SNMP alert to <something>. To w...

SNMP Traps?

Can RMA (Windows) receive SNMP Traps sent from a device on a network? That is can Veritas which can be configured to send SNMP traps, be received by RMA -- then later picked up by AHM?

SNMP, OID/MIB, Trap, Push/Pull, Agent

I'm kinda new to SNMP. I'm trying to learn what AHM can or cannot do in regards to SNMP. With RMA's loaded at customer sites, can we have say Veritas send SNMP traps to the server which RMA.exe (service) is running? Or can it only request and read the OIDs, such as a Cisco router and check outbound ...
