Shell Script times out after 5 minutes when Timeout=0
Thanks as always for the assistance. We set ProbeTimeout=3600 and restarted the HM service, but the script still times out at 5 minutes exactly. You're right about the "tests" comment: it's more of a scheduled batch job, and we're using he HM scheduling capability to run the script accordi...

HM 6.42c Shell Script times out if run>5 min & timeou
After upgrade to HostMon 6.42c from 5.92, Shell Script test reports Timed Out status if run time exceeds 5 minutes, even if Timeout is set to 0 on the test. The test runs a long-running maintenance script which may take 30-60 minutes to run. Test was modified to use new Irregular Schedule function, ...

Capture remote server clock datetime & pass to ODBC log?
Hello, Running HM 6.42c, w/ODBC logging to SQL Server db table via a stored procedure call like this (SQL Query field on Primary Log tab in Options): exec HMDB.dbo.usp_hostmon_logevent '%CommentLine1%','%CommentLine2%','%TestName%','%DateTime%','%Status%','%Reply%', '%TotalTime%', '%PassedCnt%', '%F...

Export perfmon counters in perfmon log format
Wish I could export perfmon counters over selected time period, test name, commentline1, commentline2, commentline3, status into a standard PerfMon blg file. The users/managers who do not have HM or log Analyzer could view the results in Perfmon -- I could send them the standard blg file HM would ex...

ODBC advanced logging, halting for 10 minutes due to errors
We log all test results to a SQL Server table where we mine and report from. However, we are I/O bottlenecked on our monitor server where HostMon runs from. Until we get a H/W upgrade, we have done some things to alleviate the problem. While finding and testing this issue which we know we have to fi...

Log Analyzer, a few requests
Wish we could add commentlines 1,2,3,4 etc. to ODBC log capture as many HM clients keep customer names, erver name, etc. in those as custom field values. They'd be nice to filter by, display in the graph header, etc.
Also, a graph output in JPG format would be great.

Log Analyzer registration is not being accepted
Running HM Enterprise 5.92. Every attempt to register LogAnalyzer since purchase seems to go OK, but when I restart the program I am told that I am unregistered again. Reregister and it works as long as I don't restart the program (I see "Thank you for registering. Please, restart the program.&...

Apologies for the miswording of the question; let me try again. Can a HostMonitor/system administrator specify a port for the RPC call the CPU test makes so that a fixed port is always used and can be assigned in the firewall? Could we achieve this by opening a single RPC-eligible port in our server...

Thanks!
Thanks! Really appreciate the prompt response. Exactly what I needed. BTW, this is a great, well-thought-out product. I've introduced HostMon to a number of employers over the last few years and it's always come out a winner. The capabilities and flexibility of HostMon are going to save my company f...

Hi. I am trying to run the CPU threshold & other tests using the Connect As feature against Win2K/Win2003 production systems which are located remotely at a hosting company. My Win2003 monitoring server running HostMon is located on domain DOMAIN1 while the servers I am monitoring are located on...
