|
|
Dear,
Is it possible to dial-up to a network (through modem or VPN) and then run some tests? Like the request in this thread:
http://www.ks-soft.net/cgi-bin/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=115&highlight=dial
It is now possible but rather difficult: I let hostmonitor test a server by pinging an internal ip, when this fails it dials through VPN to the network and repeats the test. When it is good it disconnects the VPN.
Easier would be, to make an option (combobox) where you can select the connectivity (Dial-up, LAN etc) to the specific host.
Or should I approach this otherwise? I have thought about RMA, but I would like to dial-in into the remote network via ISDN to run a few tests in case the internetconnection fails.
With friendly regards,
Wimmo |

You are right, its difficult to implement in current version. Reversed algorithm is impossible: RMA agent cannot call the system where HostMonitor located.
We thought about new function of the folders (folders where tests are located), some dial-up options that can be changed for each folder apart. But its not implemented yet On the other hand we do not stop development

Yes, if we can set dial-up properties per folder then that would be the solution.....! I am not a programmer, but I think it shouldn't be too hard to implement it in future versions...? (excuse my ignorance)
(PS. for me, it is not needed that the agent contacts the hostmonitor) |
