I monitor for a specific string in a file. When the string is found, an alert is fired. In the next cycle, the string is still there.
Is it possible to keep a line or byte count to remember the position of the string so you can skip that part in the next cycle.
If HM is (re)started, start at the end of the file.

PS: I know you can solve this via external command alert action, rename or remove the file, etc ... but that's not the best solution for me. The logfiles are used by others too.

Regards,
Gdvl
