Hi

I'm using v13.10 and checking web site certificates for expiry. Most of these work fine but one returns:

Reply : Error: SSL handshake failed. error:1409442E:SSL routines:ssl3_read_bytes:tlsv1 alert protocol version

Target site is:

www.wiltshireShootingCentre.co.uk & port is 443

I can't see anything odd in the test (which was copied from a 'good' one) or in the LetsEncrypt cert.

Not a big deal but any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

We cannot reproduce the problem.
Test performed by HostMonitor or RMA agent?
Windows version?

Server supports TLS 1.2, 1.3

Alex

Thanks Alex - good to know it is 'me' and not 'HM'.

HMon direct and running on W2019.

No big deal. If it works for you then it must be me.

brgds

We tested several Windows Server 2019 systems, works fine.

Actually this test should not depend on Windows version, it uses OpenSSL API.. May be you replaced libeay32.dll and ssleay32.dll files (normally HostMonitor uses DLLs installed in HostMonitor installation folder)? Or removed files from HostMonitor installation folder? Then system may load such DLLs from other location so it can be different version.

Thanks Alex

Odd thing is that I test 4 sites for cert expiry and 3 work fine but not this one. (Which was copied from a 'good' one & edited).

I'll work a bit more on it when I have time.

Many thanks.
