Just upgraded to 12.90 and now all RCC connections say bad username / password. Can't even access with admin....

I can only imagine I am being dumb, but typing some characters into a keyboard is a fairly common thing for me... I can create a user, set a password and RCC says 'nope'

So only way to access and use now is application mode on server.. which is a little sucky.

20 Years great service, by the way, hope Alex is still here.... sorry about this post but i'm stumped.

Upgrade - what exactly has been done?
Have you keep "Update/Repair" installation mode?
May be you switched to "Install" mode? Then you lost your settings.
May be you changed target folders and now you have 2 copies of HostMonitor and/or 2 copies of config files?

I would recommend to start HostMonitor as application and check your settings including operators settings (menu User->Operators).
Restore settings from backup if necessary (menu File->Backup options)

Regards
Alex

Hi There!

I just did a normal upgrade / install like I always have. Application works fine, I can add operators fine, tests work fine. But RCC just keeps returning invalid username password - even with new operator and known name and password - all in correct case.

It's weird.

RCC version?
May be HostMonitor could not open RCI port for listening because its used by another software and RCC connects to some other application? You should see error in HostMonitor syslog.
Have you checked logs? Auditing tool (menu View)?
Could you send logs and config files to support?

Regards
Alex

Heyup, hang tight - I may have fixed it - still no idea what was going on, but I stripped down all operators and remade... RCC is 7.9

Connection deffo being made ok... Mind is boggled - will update when I have played more! (Sorry to have bothered you!)

I would suggest to check the logs, may be there is explanation
(especially syslog.htm, unless you changed name)

Regards
Alex
