Importing tests with importmode feature

Post by tseiseIT »

I need to import a couple of tests into an existing folder and replace some of the current tests that are there. I made some changes to the name and IP information for the tests. Is there anything specific that needs to match on both the current test and the imported one?

If name does not match, HostMonitor will create new test items.

If you need to change target host/IP for set of test items on regular basis, then I would suggest do not use static name/IP, use folder-level variable instead (you may check default templates for example).
Then you may change folder variable (manually or using HMscript, SetFolderVariable command) and HostMonitor will adjust test name as well.
Also you may copy such tests into different folder and HostMonitor will adjust target and test name accordingly to new folder..

HostMonitor checks test method, target folder, Title and NamePattern.
Also Title may depend on test settings and NamePattern. E.g. if you change just target IP, then HostMonitor will check NamePattern and set new Title accordingly to target host IP.
