I've been asked to set up an alert for when the CPU usage on a certain server is at 100% for 5 minutes.
I can't see how to do this without setting the warning threshold to 100%, but I don't want to do that as it messes with our normal reporting.
Is it possible to do this some other way?

Depends on what exactly means "certain server".
Some systems support SNMP protocol and may provide average CPU usage over 5sec, 1min, 5minutes.

Alex

It's a Windows 2019 server. Is it possible to do?

Otherwise I could script a solution, saving the results of the scheduled CPU test to a text file and processing that. It's a messy solution though.

Sorry, there is no such counter on Windows systems.

I think you may setup 2 CPU tests
- one for reporting (using your "normal" threshold)
- another for this specific alert ("bad" threshold 99%, start "bad" action after 5th consecutive result (if test performed avery 60 sec))

Well I guess that would be the easiest solution.
Thanks Alex.
