Hi,

Does anyone have any ideas for how to monitor task scheduler?

My task scheduler on a server is failing every now and then. However, when I log in to the server, it comes back to life without me having to restart it or anything.

In the application and Services Logs\Microsoft\Windows\Taskscheduler\Operational I'm getting event ID 101 which indicates it's failed, but I'm not sure how I monitor for this.

There is NT Event Log test method
https://www.ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/mframe.htm#tests.htm#chkNTLog

Actually default HostMonitor test templates include "Event: TaskSchedulerError" test
It checks events with ID 111, 331, 203, 327, 329, 202. You may add 101 to the list

Root\Templates\Windows\Server\Event: TaskSchedulerError ...
So you may
- select this test or entire folder and use popup menu item "Check&copy" to create set of tests for your server
- or use menu Add->Windows->Windows templates->Server
- or create single test item from scratch

Great thanks for the reply.

I had seen the NT Event Log, I just couldn't see how I selected the additional apps logs rather than the standard windows events. Didn't realise I had to select the Windows "Vista" mode and then it all became clear.
