have installed hostmonitor as a service, the service runs, but the control console does not appear nor does it show up as an icon in the task bar. The only way for us to see the control console is to use the RCC, but some options only show up on the local CC. updated to 11.92 still does not show up

If we turn off the service and just run as a local program the control console appears.

Of course, Windows Vista and any newer Windows does not allow service to interact with desktop. So you should use RCC to manage HostMonitor settings, this described in the manual.
That's why we allow local RCC connection regardless of your license.

Not sure I understand you. What exactly options?
If you want to check local log files (menu View->Log viewer or View->System log or Log Analyzer) then yes, HostMonitor or RCC should be started on "local" system (regardless of service/application mode).
Also RCC does not allow to load different HML file but we think normally you may be need this once in 10 years (in this case you can start HostMonitor as application or use script)..

Yes, that's how Windows works since Vista.
