Hiya all,

We monitor a lot of devices and servers.
The first test I create is always a PING test.
This PING test I use as master for all the other tests for this specific device or server.
This is under the assumption that whenever a device or server doesn't respond to a ping request, it is probably offline, and all other tests to this device or server are pointless as they most likely will fail.

Is this a good construction, or are there negative implications to it?

Thanks!
Kris

Yes, usually this is a good way.
Also you may setup master test to check if network link works (e.g. ping your router)

Regards
Alex
