MailRelay does not use FQDN of host

Post by rasc »

Hi,

when using the great MailRelay Test on a computer that is NOT a domain member the FQDN of the host is not used in HELO/EHLO command (just the hostname).
Please fix.

Thank you!

P.S. Please also see http://www.ks-soft.net/cgi-bin/phpBB/vi ... php?t=7016

edit: to make it more precise. Our examples:
Domain (ourdomain.local) member wkst1 HELOs as HELO wkst1.ourdomain.local*, no-domain-member wkst2 HELOs as HELO wkst2

* even this is bad, because of the RDNS lookups many backup-MXes do which refuse wkst1.ourdomain.local as non-resolvable

I already linked to the feature request, but IMHO:
I would not waste the time to trace/fix this bug (or hunt it down to its explanation) but provide a TextBox for input of FQDN to be used. Much less time, much more use...

I am not sure that's bug...
But if you need new option, we can do that (lets use 1 thread for this: http://www.ks-soft.net/cgi-bin/phpBB/vi ... php?t=7016)
