UNC (availability/free space) test displays Gb instead of GB

Post by Robert_in_MTL »

Hi,
not a big issue, but one of our staff noticed that while all aerts are configured to alert when total free space gets less then XYZ [KB, MB, GB, TB, %], results (reply) shows Gb

This raises my question:
Is HostMonitor indifferent to GB (GigaBytes) vs Gb (GigaBits)?

The free disk space of 5 GB shouls display 5 GB, not 5 Gb right?

Thanks

Well, when HostMonitor shows "5 Gb" this means "5 GB" (Gigabytes).
Its not 100% correctly but its heritage...
When HostMonitor wants to display bits (e.g. for Traffic Test), it uses "Mbit" or "Kbit"

Ok,
It is just that they raised the comment that result is not the same as the test configuration choices...

... But now I know, thanks.

I presume that this will be taken care of in a future release?

Thanks, keep up the excellent work and have a great day.

That's heritage... We do not change this because we have many thousands customers and some of them use custom made scripts to process log files. We do not want to make problems for them.
Thanks, keep up the excellent work and have a great day.
Thank you
