Hello,

I've read some of the documentation, checked the FAQ forum, and did a few searches on the topic but found no info so apologies if this is addressed somewhere that I can not find. I would like to know what security measures are taken with hostmon connecting to servers and the passwords that are transmitted to obtain information from those servers. Are the passwords are encrypted in some way, if so what are the details.

Thank you in advance.

Well, HostMonitor uses standard protocols. How password is transmitted depends on test method, settings, Windows, etc.
E.g. if you are using URL test to check HTTP server with Basic authentification, password is unencrypted. If you are checking HTTPS server or using NTLM authentification then everything is encrypted.
If you are asking regarding HostMonitor <-> WebService, HostMonitor <-> RMA or HostMonitor <-> RCC communication - data transmission is encrypted and password itself never transmitted.

Regards
Alex

These tests based on Windows Performance Counters that in turn based on RPC calls.
