|
|
Hi,
We have many domain names to monitor and I am begining to create these tests.
We have a domain registered with networksolutions.com and even when I choose this provider for my test it does not work.
I only get "Can't find expiration date"
Doing a telnet (43) to this address and simply typing my domain name after the welcome message gives me all the information, including the expiry:
"Record expires on 03-Jun-2012"
Maybe the date format is not compatible with the Host Monitor Domain test?
Should I modify something I overlooked?
Thank you. |

HostMonitor should work with networksolutions.com WhoIs server.
What exactly version of HostMonitor do you use?
Domain?

Hi alex,
HM version is 9.10
and the domain is technomedia.com
The date I wrote was a typo, not 2012 but 2021
the actual date I receive for this domain through telnet is 03-Jun-2021
My test has these settings:
Test Method: Domain Expiration
WhoIs server: whois.networksolutions.com
Timeout: 30 sec
Port: 43
by the way, the domain check test works for other domain we have so I got it set up correctly for other ones but I have the same problem with tmsigal.com being with NetworkSolutions.com
thanks

We tested HostMonitor 9.10, 9.12 and 9.16 (not available yet), everything works just fine.

Yes, it works fine.
May be you have some 3rd party software that modifies traffic?

Yes we have a firewall, I would expect all test to behave the same through the firewall, and since it is ok for technomedia.ca on whois.cira.ca, networksolutions.com should not have any traffic specific traffic modifications.
... Maybe I assume too much. I will test from the server itself |

Got it:
this is the answer from the telnet test directly from the monitoring server:
