When running under Windows XP as a service - no matter if the HM properties are set to logon as <username>/<password> or as Local System - the following issue occurs:
Start service (or reboot machine), logon, open HM and edit/look-at-properties of some object, logoff, log back in, try to look at an object. At this point a small box with a partial view of the object comes up and the service freezes.
This has been tested on different hardware, a clean XP build as well as with SP1 and hotfixes.
Ideas?
Thanks,
Brad
Windows XP - service shows small windows and freezes
H'm, I just reproduced this problem on one XP system with SP1. All XP systems without SP1 work fine. Looks like Microsoft returns to Windows NT 4.0 code.
Not good. Because we cannot fix this problem. Solution will be available in HostMonitor version 4. Will be available standard service (no GUI) and regular application to configure service. The only solution I see: disable "allow service to interact with desktop" option and use another instance of HostMonitor (started as application) to configure tests/actions/options...
