Hi,

Can't remember if this has been mentioned before.. Tried searching, but didn't find what I'm looking for..

Found this thread, but not sure if it's what I'm looking for..

Wish:
When using Traffic Monitor, you can see the list of interfaces. I would like to get the same list to choose from, but instead of monitoring traffic, I would like to monitor the status of the interface.

Yes, I know that I can use the standard SNMP get test, but it's a lot of extra work to find the correct interface..

Low priority...

You could consider to put it together with Traffic Monitor.
1. Check to see if interface is administratively down or up
1a If down, show this is reply
1b If up, proceed
2. Check if interface is physically up
2a If down, show this in reply
2b If up, proceed
3. Monitor traffic as usual

Today I have many test that check administrative status of an interface. Then I have just as many test, that checks physically status of the interface, depending on the administrative status.
- If an interface is administratively down, my test is bad. The physical test, then wait for master, thereby not showing up as an error.
- If the interface is admin up, but physically down, I get an error. Otherwise the interface is not supposed to be up. This way, I don't have to enable/disable tests in AHM manually when making changes to the core.
The idea behind this is, that every interface is set up in AHM. Then the administrative status decides wether it should be up or down physically.

Does this make sence?

Yes, it has sense. Probably we should implement new test method... I have added your request into "to do" list.
