Hi,

We are using RMA on a HP-UX Itanium platform, hence this is version 1.23. We have tried to upgrade to Hostmon 8.02 but thet we gen an error "RMA: Wrong Command".

What could be the problem?

Regards,
John

You may get "RMA: Wrong Command" error because some tests were changed. In order to get rid of this error you should upgrade RMA for *nix to the latest version 1.26. The problem is that we do not have RMA 1.26 binary module for HP-UX Itanium platform....

Could you, probably, provide us SSH access to some HP-UX equipment?

BTW. "SSH" test method was introduced in verson 8.02. HostMonitor can connect and login to specified remote system running the SSH daemon and execute a command or shell script. This allows you to perform some tests on UNIX systems without using Remote Monitoring Agent for UNIX.

Hello Max,

Using SSH would require us to rewrite all our shell scripts we currently use. The best and most felxible solution would be to create a 1.26 RMA agent for HP-UX Itanium.

How would we go about to do this?

John

If you provide us Telnet or SSH access to your HP-UX, we can try to compile the agent for you. Also we can send you the source codes and you will be able to compile the agent by your self. However, I think, code should be "tuned" a bit, so it might be diffucult for you to compile the agent.

Max

Hello Max,

Because it is the core business system for a healthcare organisation I cannot give you access to the server. If you could provide us with the sources and some information on de usage/tuning you would like to do, we can compile it and send you a copy of the compiled version.

Kind regard,
John
