I'm running a script to check the active cluster for a SQL 2005 cluster as described in the last two posts of http://www.ks-soft.net/cgi-bin/phpBB/vi ... ht=cluster.
This morning I received an alert with the status: "Wait for Master".
Does this mean it was waiting on the "Master test", a ping test? Or does it mean that it was waiting on the "Master" server of the cluster?
I just want to verify. Also, if it is because of the master test, is there a way to surpress?
Thanks!
Where did the status "Wait for Master" come from?
Why do you use this forum? Where is the bug???
"Wait for Master" means test was not executed due to status of the master test(s).
Regards
Alex

Sorry, do not understand the question. Could you please explain using "Installation and configuration" forum? Also, if it is because of the master test, is there a way to surpress?

Re: Where did the status "Wait for Master" come fr
"Wait for Master" status appears when test cannot be performed because of Master test. Please, check "Test depends on" section in "Test Properties" window for this test. http://www.ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/mfra ... htm#Masterrtech wrote:Does this mean it was waiting on the "Master test", a ping test? You may try to refresh both tests manually. Also you may play with Master/Dependant settings on "Behavior" tab of "Options" dialog. http://www.ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/mfra ... m#Behaviorrtech wrote:Also, if it is because of the master test, is there a way to surpress?
Actually, if you do not need Master/Dependatn relations you may just remove master test from list of Master tests for this particular test.

Not a bad idea... I didn't know where to put an operational question.
Also a "how-to" section would be nice. Not to ask questions, but post solutiosn - similar to the library. Where you could browse through solutions by topic. This could be a place for common solutions - like monitoring SQL clustering. Just a thought.
