I have some problem with password for Log On as user on Service panel. HostMonitor is running as service and Log On select with user with domainadministrative rights with password for that user but after some period time password was disappeared and system send to me wrong alerts. I have to entered password again to fix that problem. Why it's happening. Thank you.

Strange problem. Disappear password only? Or password and user name?
Does program lose password after restart? Or this happen in run time?
What version of HostMonitor do you use?
Windows version?

Regards
Alex

Disappeared only password and as I told you before it's happening sometimes. Maybe because it's running on server and different people have been logon to the server, but I protected HostMonitor with password.

Simon,
I have checked all code where password is using. Its really mysterious problem. Program changes password only in one case, when you change it in the Options dialog and press "Ok" button. Of course program passes pointer to password into Windows API function and theoretically Windows can change (clear) password. But I did find any mentions about this side effect neither in the Microsoft documentation or in newsgroups.

Does anybody has the same problem? If yes, what Windows do you use?

Regards
Alex

Alex,

Thank you very much for your research. When I upgrade to 3.12 I do not see any more that problem. I do not know either why it's happening.

Best Regards
