RMA Stops Responding after installing Backup Exec 12 SP1

Post by Rob Moore »

Hello--

This morning I installed Backup Exec 12 SP1 on a server I monitor using the RMA. After the required server reboot, the RMA has stopped responding. I've tried rebooting the server, stopping and starting the RMA service, and upgrading the agent to the latest version. It's still not responding. What shall I try next? A different port? (I'm currently using the standard 1055.)

The server is running Windows Server 2003 SP2 Standard. The monitoring software is installed on Windows XP SP3.

Thanks,
Rob

Actually, looking at the log I see that port 1055 is now in use. I guess I'll try a different port.

Correct. You should try another port. I would recommend higher port number, e.g. 5055 but do not use port 5056, 5057 that are default ports for Active RMA communication.
