recieving Win32 Error. Code: 5. while HM running as a servi
I am recieving the win32 error code 5 error message while trying to monitor a service on a w2k3 r2 server while HM is running as a service. I have the test logging in as a domain administrator, just like the other services i monitor on other servers. the other servers are w2k sp4.
when host monitor is not running as service this will not happen. I am running 5.92

Windows error code 5 means "Access is denied". Have you specified admin account on Service page in the Options dialog?
Regards
Alex
Do you mean only one Windows 2003 server returns such error while other Windows 2000 servers located in the SAME DOMAIN works fine?I have the test logging in as a domain administrator, just like the other services i monitor on other servers.
Regards

"Access is denied" error appears when HostMonitor's system cannot log in the the remote machine using necessary account. Have you specified an account into "Connect as" field or do you use "Connection Manager?"
Could you check the "Security Log" using Event Viewer applet on Win2003 machine to verify what account HostMonitor is using to connect to the server?

Max

You may set "Success and Failure" to be sure system is receiving requests.
BTW: If such problem appears on single system, you may install RMA as workaround for any Windows problem
