Re: WMI problem connecting
What OS is running on your server? on client machine? Do you see any errors in EventLog? Could you enable RMA logging (using rma_cfg.exe utility) and check log1.txt, log2.txt files in RMA's directory?braskoer wrote:When i try to configure wmi the error "Error: The RPC server is unavailable" keeps returning, Can i do anything about it?
Might be, following article will be helpful: http://www.microforge.net/kb/39

We have Windows 2003 running on our own server, the client machine varies from windows 2000 sbs/standard to windows 2003 sbs/standard.KS-Soft Europe wrote:What OS is running on your server? on client machine? I'll put on the logging for the rma to see if i can find anything that way.
There're no errors reported in the eventlog at this point.

"Try to configure"? Do you mean error is displayed by WMI Explorer application? WMI Explorer does not work thru RMA, it tries to request target system directly. I assume target system located in remote network protected by firewall? That's why you see this error. We have Hostmonitor version 5.92 running on our server with rma 3.30c on our clients --> servers from our clients (remote locations)

Solution? You should type WMI Query manually without using WMI Explorer, then HostMonitor will request RMA to perform the test.
