SNMP filtering question - wild card IPs?

Post by sneader »

I want take action on SNMP traps that come from any IP in the 172.23.x.x (/16) network, and I want to ignore traps coming from any other IP.

Short of entering in manually every single IP between 172.23.1.1 and 172.23.255.254, under "SNMP Device - Any except the following" is there a better way?

Thanks in advance,

- Scott

Hi Alex. Thanks again for your speedy support.

If I were to list all of the routers & switches in the 172.23.x.x network that I want to filter/action... is there a limit to the number of items you can have in the "Any except the following" list?

I suppose this could be a feature request, but I'm guessing this is like version 10 stuff. :-)

Its hard to calculate exact limit, approximately around 4,000 items.

Yes, I have added new task.
but I'm guessing this is like version 10 stuff.
