|

Hi Alex,
in the SNMP trap test settings there is the new option "Increment counters when no messages received", which is meant to allow the use of escalation alerts. But IMHO this is not always possible
Example1:
Bad message filter: Link Down
Good message filter: No trap received within 3600 secs.
Example2:
Bad message filter: Link Down
Good message filter: Set ok by acknowledgement.
In both examples I have no idea how to trigger an escalation alert e.g. after 30 mins as the "bad" recurrences will never exceed 1. IMHO the point is that the incrementation interval is coupled to the interval in the filter settings.
Suggestion / wish:
To use the test interval (which is greyed at the moment) as the incrementation interval.
(see also http://www.ks-soft.net/cgi-bin/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=3011 ):

To establish escalations much easier it would make sense to count the recurrences of SNMP trap tests as the number of intervalls that pass by since the Test went bad (or good).
Yeah, may be we can implement this....
Regards
Alex

Thank you, I'm glad to hear this.
Can you give me a hint regarding the implementation?
Cheers
