After applying
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/securi ... 6-feb.mspx
to the windows 2003 server that hosts hostmonitor my URL https test started failing/timeout.
The test creates a url like http://username:password@test.server.com:443/dir
No changes were made to hostmonitor other than the patches applied last night. Test started failing upon reboot of hostmonitor.
Pasting the crafted hostmonitor URL into IE gives page not found.
Pasting the crafted hostmonitor URL into firefox - throws up a dialog asking if you want to login with the included username/password hitting yes opens up the page.

I've re-created the test using the http test however that isn't cutting it for testing the https side of the site.
url test using HTTPS has stopped working
I think you should try the following things:
1. In URL Test Properties Window click on "Advanced button" and then check "HTTPS: Ignore unknown certificate authority problem" in.
2. Go Options > Misc > Setting For URL test and check options "Accept SSL/PCT certificates ..." related.
It might help.
