HM 5.30, RMA 3.14..........
I've configured an alert so when a status is met an email will be sent to the client mailbox advising them to restart thier workstation.
Q. Is a 'No Answer' (status column) considered a 'Bad' status?
I have checked by default "Treat unknown status as Bad", but unsure if 'No Answer' status is considered 'Bad' as well.
Q. If not, how can I send an alert on a 'No Answer' condition? |

Yes, "No answer" is bad status.
Host is alive, Ok - "good" statuses
No answer, Bad, Bad contents - "bad" statuses
Unknown, Unknown host - "unknown" statuses

Well then for some reason 'No Answer' is not working. I'm using the same 'Action Profile' as I do for all the tests.
Q. What do you suggest? |

What exactly is not working? HostMonitor does not start alerts when test changes status from "Host is alive" to "No answer"? Could you please check alert settings - "Start when", "Repeat", "Time restriction" parameters?

Ok, apparently clicking on "Refresh" does not count as a "consecutive "Bad" results occurance" as setup in the Windows RMA.
It does work as long as I leave it alone and let it 'step-though' the 10 minute intervals x 4 counts = email sent.
Looks like I don't have a problem. Maybe this post will help someone else too. |
