Hi,
We have an important problem.
Suddenly, hostmonitor lets stop monitoring and remains in state STOP. The Webservice continues showing the last state of the controls, reason why we don't know that in fact it does not work.
To workaround this problem, can we control from another HOSTMONITOR the state of which is failing?

Version of HM: 4.86
Number of controls:460

Thanks,
Miguel A. Gil

Could you please explain what exactly means "state STOP"?
- does it means you see "Start" button on HostMonitor's toolbar?
- or "STOP" means status of the service is "Stopped"?
- or it means you see "STOP" button when connect to HostMonitor using Web Service?

BTW: You are using registered or evaluation version?

Regards
Alex

Excuse my poor explanation (and my poor english) . It means that I see "Start" button on HostMonitor's toolbar.
Is a registered version of HM.
Sometimes, HM crash and when we reload it, we need to press start button.
Thanks,

Ok, I understand now. Its easy to fix - click menu Options, select "Startup" page and switch "Start/Stop" option to "start after loading".

I think you may use "File Availability" test to check log file or some report that should be updated routinely on primary system. This test allows you to check how old file is and start actions when file is older than NN min.

Normally HostMonitor should not crash at all.
What Windows do you use? Service Pack?
Do you use ODBC logging? If so, what ODBC driver do you use?
Do you use Performance Counter tests?
