Installation

Post by hmquest »

I have the older version of Host Monitor working on my computer. For my own security I want to keep the existing service working while I install the newer version. Then I want to transfer my checks and make sure the new version works Ok. If so, I'm going to stop and uninstall the older version. Can I follow this scenario? If it's not possible, what is the most secure way to port my checks to the newer Host Monitor version?

No problem. You may install new version into different directory and then copy all configuration files from current version.
Copy all *.LST, *.INI and *.HML files.

If you want to have running both instances at the same time, change path to log file, reports, scripts (if you are using any). If you install new version on different system using the same target directory, you don't need to change anything.
