1. When I'm trying to connect via Telnet or Webservice I receive the following error:
Connection to host lost
Webservice gives me:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Transmission error (Web Service <-> HostMonitor): "Connection error"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Possible reasons:
- HostMonitor is not running
- RCI interface disabled
- HM Web Service configured incorrectly (wrong TCP Port or IP address)
- network problem
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I doublechecked all settings..they look fine...a telnet [myhost] 1054 looks fine too...
2. Where can I find logentries when enabling everything under Options->RCI ? Can't find that stuff...
XP SP2 - HostMonitor v4.86 - Firewall open/disabled - Checked eventlogs.. |

Telnet <myhost> 1054 doesn't look correctly.
Port 1054 is used for HostMonitor<->WebService and HostMonitor<->TelnetService communication.
Telnet client connects to TelnetService, so use port #23
The same about web browser - web browser connects to WebService using port #80, not 1054.
E.g. web browser <-port 80-> WebService <-port 1054-> HostMonitor

By default, System Log data is stored in the Common Log (see Options | Log Settings, section "Common log file" ).
This can be changed if you prefer using Options | Log Settings | Advanced Logs, section "System log" |
