I am interested in getting Advanced Host monitor to monitor my local
lan and cable modem connection.
Is there a way that I can set it up that when my cable modem
connection doesn't respond, that it will connection to my backup
dialup account, send a email to my sms phone, then disconnect the
connection?
I see where you can create a profile to connect to dun and disconnect,
but it won't let you select the order of actions,
I want to do this:
Dialup network
Send email
Disconnect
but it insists on this order
Dialup network
Disconnect
Send email
Please let me know if there is a way that I can do this.
The only way to send messages to my cell phone is via email. |

One of possible solutions - create 6 actions (in one action profile):
1) Action: Change test interval
Start when: 1 consecutive Bad result occurs
Repeat: 1 time
Set new test interval, this interval must be enough to establish Dial-up connection. E.g. 60 sec
2) Action: Dial-up to the network
Start when: 1 consecutive Bad result occurs
Repeat: 1 time
3) Action: Send e-mail
Start when: 2 consecutive Bad result occurs
Repeat: 1 time
4) Action: Disconnect dial-up connection
Start when: 3 consecutive Bad result occurs
Repeat: 1 time
5 - optional) Action: Change test interval - restore original interval
Start when: 3 consecutive Bad result occurs
Repeat: 1 time
6) Action: Change test interval - restore original interval
Start when: 1 consecutive Good result occurs
Repeat: 1 time
Assign this profile to test that checks cable modem connection (I hope this test checks cable connection, not any connection?).
Regards
