I am not sure why this is happening, I have a link that needs to be monitored for any type of content so as long as the page opens(http://heat2/HeatSelfService/default/en-us/login.asp). I left the http test as the default settings then run the test manually using the test option, the results posted were:
Test Status: Bad
Error code: 401
Error msg: Access Denied
I also tried functions, get/post/header requests and the results were still the same. Why is this happening?. Thanks
A sample header looks like this:
__________________________________________________________

HostMonitor always checks HTTP error code returned in HTTP header. If HTTP header indicates some error, HM sets "Bad" status.
I think you need some script that will ignore error codes, probably you can modify this one http://www.ks-soft.net/cgi-bin/phpBB/vi ... php?t=1293

True but the header pasted earlier on the post contains no errors and if I am to launch the link, I am prompt for a username and password but with no errors.
I am not familiar with that script and not sure if it would work as the poster refers to creating a script at the time when HOSTMON didn't support HTTP/URL test actions.

You mix up HTML header and HTTP header. HTTP header contains error code.True but the header pasted earlier on post contains no errors
Exactly. You are prompted for a username and password. It means web server reguires authentication.if I am to launch the link I am prompt for a username and password with no errors.
Why you do not want to use URL test with "Password protected page" option enabled?

Alex
The authentication is embedded within the HTML code, not an NT challenge, I already tried the way suggested and it is the same responce either way and makes no difference. URL test hangs at times and slower than HTTP test.
How does one validate HTTP header errors using HOSTMON?. If the link is ran manually a page is displayed but with no obvious errors besides an authentication box.
Also If I omit the paths and test from the top level that is http://heat2/ and not http://heat2/HeatSelfService/default/en-us/login.asp then HOSTMON test passes.
