Hi

I'm having problems using the NT Event Log test. Normaly I had good results using the test with HM 4.30 but after upgrading to HM 4.42 or now 4.52 I don't get the result string returned from the test - or actually - not every time - I get an empty string instead.

Any comment ??

Regards
Mogens

We did not make any changes in NT Event Log test method between versions 4.30 - 4.42.
What status of the test when it does not display result string? Unknown? Ok? Bad?
Do you have enabled "Show events description in Reply field for "check NT Event Log" test" option?

Regards
Alex

Hi

It is when the Status goes into "Bad" the result string goes into "blank".

Yes, it is enabled.

Have you checked event using Event Viewer? May be event description is empty?
If not, could you setup HostMonitor to send alert by e-mail using Event Log specific macro variables:
%NTEventSource% - Event source. Identifies the software that logged the event
%NTEventComp% - Name of the computer where the event occurred
%NTEventTime% - Time of the event
%NTEventType% - Type of the event
%NTEventID% - Event identifier
%NTEventText% - Event description
%NTEventUser% - Represents the user name if an event is attributed to a specific user

In this case we will know what exactly HostMonitor "sees" in the log.

Alex
