Hi!

When i use macros like %server% or %test% in the subject Line of the Action properties of an "send e-mail" action, the macro is not resolved in the e-mail i get from hostmonitor.
The Macros in the E-Mail Body are resolved well!

Thx for help!

regards
Bastian

Probably you use wrong macros. HostMonitor does not support %server% and %test" macros. There are list of macro variables: http://www.ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/mframe.htm#actions.htm#macro

Dear Alex!

I fixed the problems in the subject-line by using the "right" macros

But I have still the problem with the "from"-field! When i use there the macro %HostName% or %TestName% for example, the macros are not resolved in the email i get! So i get a message from %TestName%!

Is there anything else i make wrong? Or is this a bug and you can fix it?

Thx and regards
Bastian

Its not a bug. HostMonitor does not support macro variables in "From" field.
Are you realy need this? Some SMTP servers will not accept mail if you specify address that does not exist. You can use macro variables in Subject line, in the mail's body, and as destination address.

Hi!

It would make it easier to work with a lot of Tests and Clients to automate the email-traffic with LN-Agents for example!

Then i have the possibility to say: if the sender of the email, then start this script!
Because the destination mailbox is not only for use with HostMonitor. We use it for our filer(netapp) too. And the agents in the mailbox works there with the "from" field!

Is this a problem to add this in HostMonitor?

Thx and regards
Bastian
