|
|
Hello--
I recently switched from running HostMonitor as an application, to running it as a service (so I could logon with a lower privilege account). Now I'm running into an odd phenomenon: for some tests, the notification windows that pop up don't disappear after a few seconds. They just hang there until I close them. Plus they look strange--I can partially see through them, like you sometimes can on windows for non-responding programs.
Obviously it's not a critical problem, but it'd be nice to make it go away.
Thanks,
Rob |

Thanks. I've downloaded that. Now, what do I need to do to install it? It seems to be the executable itself (as opposed to an installer). Remember I've got the current version running as a service.
Thanks,

1) stop service
2) Make backup copy (just in case) - e.g. zip all files from HostMonitor's directory. Or just make a copy of the following files:
- *.LST
- hostmon.exe
- your HML file with tests
3) unzip files from archive (hm447.zip), overwrite current files
4) start service
Regards

While diddling around with the installation (before I saw your instructions), I ended up rebooting the workstation that HostMonitor is installed on (first reboot in a long while). That seems to have fixed the problem!
Sometimes the old tricks are the best. Sorry to have bothered you.

If you perform logoff-logon operation several times, this problem may come back.
Update should fix this problem forewer.
