|
|
I have Hostmonitor 4.45 beta and RMA 1.18 on a machine at a remote location.
The RMA is installed on a remote customer's domain controller checking the various applications on the remote domain. All the machines are running Win2K Server with SP4 loaded.
I keep getting the following popup error on the remote Win2k Server machine running RMA 1.18:
Windows socket error: An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine (10053), on API 'send'
Any ideas?
Thanks |

When I use RMA 1.16, I don't see as many of these errors. They still occur, but not as frequently. |

I haven't seen the popup since I loaded RMA 1.20, however I am seeing those errors now in the log file (log2.txt).

I am sure RMA does not try to send information after it closes connection.
Looks like some other software closes connection that is used by RMA.
Which one and why
Do you have this problem with single system? Do you have installed some antivirus software started on that system?
BTW: How it looks from HostMonitor's side? What status and Reply value of the tests monitored by that agent?

No Anti-Virus loaded on any of the systems. From Hostmonitor I get the following under reply "RMA: Cannot read data". Status is "Unknown".
I don't know if this makes a difference or not, but the RMA is loaded on the other side of a frame relay connection, and connecting to the remote servers on the other side of that WAN, which are another hop in the frame relay. I don't know how good the text diagram below will help in understanding how this works.
Hostmonitor -------*wan*-------- RMA -------*wan*----------Remote Machine. |

I don't think it should be a problem. IMHO problem relates to system where RMA is running.
Could you try to setup HostMonitor and RMA to use another TCP port?
If this will not help, could you check what is goind on (what system closes connection) using some traffic analyzer (sniffer)?
