Hello Alex,
I'd thought you'd might have nothing to do, so here is another problem for you
I have HM v4.42 running with an Agent v1.18 running on a W2k-server. I want to check the textfile \\server01\d$\apps\veritas\data\a.txt (which is on the local server) for a string "testje".
The test always returns "Ok".
If I change the string into "asdfasdf" the test still returns "Ok".
If I enable "reverse alert" the test always returns "Bad"
If I delete a.txt, the test returns a RMA 301 error: file not found
The NTFS-rights are set to: Everyone Full Control
I changed the path to d:\apps\veritas\data\a.txt, without any difference
I changed the test-type into "file does not contain string" without any difference (results were inverted).
I have re-created a.txt by different methods.
"Case sensitive" or "whole words only" settings didn't do any difference.
Have I missed something here....?
a.txt

Dit is
een testje om
om te kijken
of het werkt

H'm, I just tested HM 4.42 and RMA 1.18 using your file and search string. Everything works properly
RMA can "see" and read the file, otherwise it returns "Unknown" status.
???
May be some characters in the file and search string looks similar but really from different code pages (e.g. english 'e' and national 'e' may look exactly the same but have different codes)?
Regards

You were right, the file a.txt contained unicodes, which weren't shown in Notepad..!!
I don't know why this happened, but anyway it works now!! Thnx ! |
