Slightly odd circumstances. I'm trialing this product and one test pings a GPRS mobile phone attached by a serial port to the computer.

When the GPRS connection fails the ping test doesn't actually fail, it just falls from a response time of ~ 1700ms to 20ms.

How might I go about defining a rule that fails if the ping falls below a particular level?

Thanks

Reply time is about 1700ms when connection established and about 20ms when connection
fails? Do I understand you correctly?
I think you can set timeout to 100ms and use "Reverse alert" option (www.ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/mframe.htm# ... tm#Reverse)
