Hey all, I apologize if this has been covered before.

I'm currently running weekly reports and having those reports sent out in various formats to people who need them, but lately I've been asked for monthly, quarterly, and yearly statistics.

From what I understand of HostMon, I have to reset the statistics on each reporting cycle to get accurate uptimes and ratios. However, if I was to set up a database and import the weekly (or perhaps even daily) information into that database, could I not use it to generate custom reports for specific tests within specific date ranges? Assuming this is possible, has anyone actually taken on this task?

I'm lucky enough to have a few good SQL and Crystal Reports guys in the department, but before I go outlining this as a project I wanted to find out if any of you have done this kind of thing.

Thanks for any assistance you can offer.

Jesse

HostMonitor provides only 1 set of statistic counters, it means HostMonitor unable to create all of those reports

If you need some simple reports (like Alive/Dead ratio for the tests), you may use Log Analyzer. It can be started on a schedule and create reports for different time periods.

But if you need more complicated reports, I see only one solution - log information into database and use custom-made script/software to generate reports.

Regards
Alex
