"Hostmonitor already as win32 service. Do you need to launch a 2nd instance in application mode"?
Ok. Looks like HostMonitor is started as a service and you will try to launch second instance of HostMonitor. We do not recommend to start second instance. If HostMonitor is running, you should see the small icon in the tray. However, if you access the server via Terminal Service or Remote Desktop client, you will not the icon due some technical problems. In this case you should use RCC or use the following .bat script:

Code: Select all

net stop hostmonservice
"C:\Program Files\HostMonitor5\hostmon.exe"
net start hostmonservice

It means user, that you are using to log in, does not have necessary rights. You may start foregoing .bat script and assign different permission for certain user using menu "User" -> "Operators".

Ok. Please, start foregoing script and ensure the user with local or domain admin permissions is specified into "Options" -> "Service" tab.
Also we should "force" sending mail to invoke popup window with SMTP commands. To do that you may create some new test, for instance "Ping", and assign to in certain alert profile with "Send Email". In "Action Properties" window for the "Send email" action you may enable "Repeat until status changes" option. http://www.ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/mfra ... properties
Could you do that?

The user I am logging in to see my object tree in RCC is the admin and I checked....the admin has full rights.

I access the server (and the HM5) by Remote Desktop.

In this case you may use cmd script, posted in my previous post. Please, see the following article for details:

Have you managed to "force" HostMonitor to send email?

Max

Have you seen the status popup window? Could you copy all information from this window?

We've got your mail. However, IP-addresses you provided belong to "reserverd" range and we cannot be accessible outside your network.
Please, see the following article for details: http://www.iana.org/faqs/abuse-faq.htm# ... eAddresses
